Salsuri

Our Story

20 years of bringing Latin dance to the heart of Suriname.

Our Mission

Dance Connects Us

Salsuri was founded with a simple belief: that dance has the power to bring people together across cultures, languages, and borders. What started as a small salsa gathering in Paramaribo has grown into the Caribbean's most anticipated Latin dance event. Our mission is to create world-class dance experiences that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Suriname while connecting dancers from around the globe. The 2026 Congress marks our biggest milestone yet — a full five-day celebration of everything we love about Latin dance.

What We Stand For

Our Values

Passion for Dance

Everything we do is driven by our love for Latin dance — salsa, bachata, cha-cha, and Afro-Cuban movement.

Cultural Exchange

We bring together dancers from across the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and beyond — celebrating diversity through dance.

Community First

Salsuri is more than an event — it's a family. We prioritize intimate, high-quality experiences over mass attendance.

20 Years of Legacy

Since 2005, we've been building a legacy of unforgettable dance experiences in the heart of Suriname.
